Ysbrant is with the international consulting firm, Booz Allen Hamilton. At Booz Allen, he focuses on technology driven finance and commercial banking. His engagements include work with the Department of Defense Task Force to Improve Business and Stability Operations in Iraq, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the Department of the Treasury and the World Bank.
Prior to Booz Allen, he served as an advisor and staff liaison to the Baker-Hamilton Iraq Study Group (ISG), focusing primarily on economic and reconstruction issues. During his time on the Iraq Study Group, he was the associate director for international policy at the Center for the Study of the Presidency, a policy-oriented think tank in Washington, DC. Prior to this position, Ysbrant was an associate with the consultancy Mercer Associates. At Mercer, he advised foreign clients on merger and acquisitions, market entry strategy and investment.
Originally from the Netherlands, he has completed undergraduate and graduate degrees in Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States. He was a fellow at the Institute for European, Russian and Eurasian Studies in Washington, DC. Currently, he is a fellow with the Center for the Study of the Presidency, a national security fellow with the Truman National Security Project, and a research associate with the Project on Middle East Democracy.
